I'm a 41 year old fanfiction writer and independent scholar. The wonderful world of fandom brought me here eight years ago; I primarily write and read Wraeththu, Tolkien and Harry Potter fanfiction. I was privileged enough in 2008 to revisit England and meet with Storm Constantine, the author of Wraeththu, in person!! I was very involved in Tolkien fandom (including costuming) from 2002-04. 2004-2007 saw me spending most of my time in HP fandom, though I didn't completely neglect my Tolkien roots. I have a thing for redheads, including all of the Weasleys, though Ron and George in particular. I write slash (and the occasional genfic), and my favorite pairings have been/are: George/Remus ("Cartography of Fire" universe), Ron/Draco (especially in my "Magic Immunity" universe), and Ron/Harry. In 2007 I wrote some Dean/Ron, and Seamus-centric fics, as well as a few threesomes. 2008-09 has seen me writing primarily Wraeththu, some Slave Breakers (original fiction written by the astonishing maculategiraffe), Tolkien slash (a first!), HP, and the occasional dalliance into Swordspoint or The Persian Boy. My first Wraeththu story/novella will be published by Storm's press at some point, though I'm currently rewriting it for a more public audience rather than fandom. Still, it's terribly exciting. Here in 2011 I'm focusing primarily on an original fiction story, though I continue to dabble in my three primary fandoms.
Many entries in this journal that aren't posted fics are now friends-locked as I do intersperse RL and fandom information about myself; if you know me or want to get to know me and aren't on my flist, send me an email. Welcome to the haven!
In case you wonder I'm known in both fandoms as Thevina, or in Tolkien fandom, sometimes as Thevina Finduilas. Thevina was already taken here in LJ-land, so I picked Thrihyrne, a three-mountain range in Rohan, and also the name of my website. Thrihyrne [self-pronounced as "thrih-hear-nuh"] and Thevina also have a delicious parallel alliterative thing going on. Though I do love the Rohirrim, and wrote about them a lot when first in Tolkien fandom, Gimli and the Dwarves definitely have my heart.
What a dear friend has said about me:
you are wonderful just the way you are, with all your beautiful flaws and gorgeous pain and fabulous failure, as well as your amazing accomplishments and huge heart and tremendous talent.
"The greatest power is often simple patience."
~E. Joseph Cassman
My name, and yours, and the true name of the sun, or a spring of water, or an unborn child, all are syllables of the great word that is very slowly spoken by the shining of the stars. There is no other power. No other name.
